Federal Skilled Worker Program
Duplessis Immigration Law
Build Your Future in Canada
If you have strong professional experience and good language skills, the Federal Skilled Worker Program could open the door to permanent residence. You’ll need at least one year of continuous full-time (or equivalent part-time) paid work experience in a National Occupation Classification (NOC) TEER category 0, 1, 2, or 3 job — gained within the last 10 years.
On top of that, you’ll need to meet the minimum language proficiency of CLB 7 in English or French, and have your foreign education assessed through an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA). You must also score at least 67 points out of 100 on the program’s own points grid before even being considered under Express Entry.
Common Mistakes
Common mistakes include underestimating how strict the language requirements are, failing to provide proper documentation for work experience (like job descriptions, pay stubs, and reference letters), or not getting your educational credentials properly assessed.
